THE LONGEST DRIVE
a golf odyssey

Round 9 – monday, nov 10, 2008

Yarrawonga, VIC

Played golf yesterday at Yarrawonga Border GC after a drive over Mt.Hotham from Lakes Entrance. Tops road. Windy. And windy. Patches of snow. Kangaroos fighting. Choccie milkshake in Omeo. Glass of sauv blanc and dim sims in Wangaratta. Choice. Anyway  yessss, Yarrawonga and Border GC on the banks of the Mighty Murray in Mighty Victoria. Super joint, Yarrawonga. Saw kangaroos fighting and drove across Mt.Hotham and ate a steak as big as the skull of cro-magnon man, which is, you’ll admit, a rather odd simile for a chunk of bleeding steak-meat, but there you go, a bit of colour never hurt anyone except for perhaps Malcolm X. Anyway this is Yarrawonga & Border GC on the banks of the Mighty Murray, and I urge you if you are in the district to go and visit it because it has 45 holes and a swimming pool and steaks as big as cave-dwelling human man-beasts. Good day.
