THE LONGEST DRIVE
a golf odyssey

Round 19, Saturday, Nov 22, 2008

Launceston

So yes another day another super game of golf at a super golf course. This is Launnie GC where the fairways are like 500 metre long velvet tongues and the greens receptive like the Queen, and the beer comes in little 8oz glasses that are not called “ponies” or “eights” or “lil’ baby middies” but rather, interestingly, “beers”.

Anyway played pretty good and didn’t get cold and then drank cold 8oz beers containing delicious Boag’s Draught with the local Launcesto-ranians, or however they describe the singular form of their collective grouping.

Launcastrians? Laundoners? Laungjohndalys?

Whatever—good golf, good beer, good Launceston.
